Richard Christensen from Toledo started with the stem and midship frame... of a Six-Hour Canoe and, after many modifications, ended up with this nice rowboat. Scott Malvitch of Corvallis built this banks dory in the traditional way, out of oak and Port Orford cedar.

I hitched a ride from Scott Malvitch for a tour of the harbor. Here we meet Scott Marble in his skiff... and Richard Stover in his Joel White Shearwater faering... and James McMullen in his Pygmy Kayaks Goldeneye sea kayak.

The harbor tour took an exciting turn when we took a detour... out through the "hole" into the Pacific... where we encountered the Kingfisher, full of whale watchers. That fellow in the Old Town dory skiff is Tom Carter of the Riverswest Small Craft Center in Portland.
